(No meals June 19 or July 4.)

Sponsored by the Omaha Salvation Army, this program delivers hot, nutritious meals, free of charge, to children 18 years of age and younger. Meals are served on the library lawn. All food must be consumed at the library. Meals can be brought in during inclement weather.

Meadowlark nominees should be read ahead of time so we can discuss them during book club.We will start our meeting by reading the Golden Sower Little Bluestem nominee, Abdul’s Story by Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, illustrated by Tiffany Rose, followed by a discussion of the Meadowlark nominee for the month, Ain’t Burned All the Bright by Jason Reynolds, illustrated by Jason Griffin [read ahead of time]. Snacks provided. Reading level: grades 6+

Babysitting Certification Course (#01) Friday, June 7 • 10:00 AM-3:00 PM Become a safe and reliable sitter! The Nebraska Extension Services will provide babysitting certification to 15 students (age 11-18) per course. Learn the basics of child development, safety, nutrition, and more through their Building Better Babysitters program!
